This field trip I got my fill of sun and the Southern Menan Butte! The Menan Buttes are tuff cones. The southern butte came up in the river so its basaltic tuff has river pebbles in it! Pretty cool! Next we went to Ririe and pondered the amazing ignimbrite and I got to collect my first concretions! They are volcanic sand concretions! Yay! Our last stop was Cress Creek Trail, which had a nice view of the valley! On our way home we stopped to look at the yaks and wished we could eat dinner at Big Jud's!
